History
1900

The 'Carlo Laviosa' Shipping Agency began its activities in the early years of the 20th century, when the Laviosa family imported coal from Britain and the brothers Ernesto and Attilio operated in the ports of Genoa, La Spezia and Leghorn.

1905

Ernesto Laviosa, the first president of the La Spezia Industrialists Union, began his business as a shipping agency, charterering and importer of English minerals and coal.

1915

Ernesto Laviosa developped the industrial side of the business, founding the SFI (Italian Furnace Company) together with Senator Federico Ricci from genoa who later became Treasury Minister, Eugenio Quaglia, Mario Preve from the family owning Riso Gallo and Vincenzo Lodigiani from the famous Lodigiani company in Milan

1920

Ernesto Laviosa participated at the first Milan Trade Fair exposing his products. The 'Carlo Laviosa' Shipping Agency began its activities in the early years of the 20th century, when the Laviosa family imported coal from Britain and the brothers Ernesto and Attilio operated in the ports of Genoa, La Spezia and Leghorn.

1928

The SFI participated in setting up the CIREM (Italian Refractory and Mineral Company) together with the English industrialists Cochran Carr who produced the famous silicon aluminium refractory materials, passed on to them by the ancient Emerson Miller factory which began production 1810.

1945

The war over, Carlo Laviosa resumed the coal trading and the Shipping and Forwarding Agency activities.

1953

Carlo Laviosa died in 1953 and his son Ernesto, born in 1925, with a degree in Engineering, took his father's place in the company. At this time, the company was mainly involved in developing the representation of shipping principals and in the loading - unloading of bulk goods.

1965

Ernesto Laviosa dedicated himself to the promotion and development of integrated port services.

1983

Ernesto's son, Giovanni, born in 1956, has the responsibility of managing the company.

The group is lead by Dr. Carlo Laviosa and the family's main business focuses on the shipping sector and specifically on its role as a shipping agency, freight forwarder, transport and customs operations business. The group is made up of the following companies:

Livorno

The company has presently reached an excellent level of specialization in providing services to all kinds of ships, with dedication to the optimization of in-port services. Through the years, specific know-how has been developed and consolidated in various activities: from discharging and loading industrial minerals (Bulk Goods Logistics Division) to warehousing chemicals (Coastal Chemicals Depot Division) and to the business of providing commercial and operations services to the Ro-Ro goods lines (Ferry Division).
